Diving in leaves us no other choice: sink, or swim! Immersion is a powerful way to learn, as motivation is at a maximum and relevance is a given. This is the reason travel and language immersion programs are the most effective ways to acquire another language. When knowledge is useful, we care to learn it, and we retain it for re-use. Other examples of immersive learning experiences include project-based learning and simulations.
